The 13th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art passing the fugitive on began with a successful opening week. More than 20.000 visitors saw the exhibition at its four locations in Berlin. At the opening, 2000 professional visitors and 350 members of the press were registered.
The event program Encounters began with Han Bing’s performance Walking the Cabbage in Berlin through the streets of Berlin-Mitte, also recorded 300 spectators. On the opening weekend, they experienced four performances of Major Nom’s The Beggars’ Convention in the Sophiensæle and the performance The Berlin Statement. Who Makes Profit on Art and Who Gains From It Honestly? by Milica Tomić at the former Courthouse Lehrter Straße and Gabriel Alarćons 4000 m. ü NN at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart.
